Nick really put some thought into this scent and it shows! This is a strong bold scent with layers of complexity especially in the dry down!

So, I shot an idea over to the Rugged Pirate about an apple scent I was thinking of having made. He responded almost immediately and said that it was a really good idea. We chatted a little about some potential nuances to the scent, then I told him I would think about it a bit more and get back to him. A few days later I reached out again. I asked a few more questions to which he had well explained answers. We decided on an overall scent profile but I gave him final artistic control since he is the expert. I placed my order, confirmed he received it and he told me it would be a week or so before it would be done. The next day he let me know he would be working on it that day because he couldn't wait to create what we decided on. I asked if I could send a graphic to put on the bottle somewhere, he said i could, I gave the scent a name and waited. I did t have to wait very long. The very next day I received an email that my order had shipped. USPS actually had their act together on this one since it only took a few days to get to me. The scent is fantastic! It was exactly what we had discussed and I could not be any more pleased. I'm glad I bought the oil/butter combo. Did I mention the graphic I sent him was placed front and center on the bottle and jar along with the character name I gave it? I will order again from the Pirate gladly. 10/10

My second custom scent! Nich is truly an ALCHEMIST !

One of the things I love about our bearded community is the access to the owners. I asked Nick the other day what his favorite Rugged Pirate scents were… One he mentioned was Squiffy Planks and he’s not the only one that has told me that, so I purchased it and Gasparilla. One thing about Rugged Pirate’s oils… They’re all strong... When this one came in, I opened the bottle, took a sniff, closed the bottle and then my living room smelled like Squiffy Planks for the next hour…😋. When I put it in my beard this morning the first thing that catches your nose is the tangy sweetness of the blackberry and black currant. Nick was actually worried that this one might be too sweet for my taste, but not at all, the absinthe, cedar, and rum give it enough depth and complexity to offset the sweetness and the vanilla and tonka make it silky smooth. I can easily see why this is a Rugged Pirate favorite.
